With an undergraduate degree in Psychology (focus on Developmental Psychology) from SUNY Purchase and a Graduate Degree in Education from Manhattanville College, Julia Calabrese-Harrer — mom of two wonderful young men — began her journey as a yoga instructor after graduating from the RajaHatha School of Yoga and earning her Registered Yoga Teacher Certification (200+ hrs) in August 2013. Julia first began practicing yoga in college and has continued through her adult life, two pregnancies, and now her "fantastic fifties." She practices Hatha Yoga with a focus on alignment, an approach that has best helped her connect and unionize (yoga) body and mind. Her mission is to create an internal view of self that is free and full of curiosity — giving practitioners the space to investigate and educate the physical body in a judgement-free zone, and to nurture the child within toward wellness in the present, through breathwork, physical asanas, and meditation. Julia is a certified and Registered Yoga Teacher, a member of the Yoga Alliance, and fully insured. She graduated from the Yoga Alliance–certified RajaHatha Yoga School under Amy Pearce-Hayden, is certified to teach Kids Yoga (ages 2–12) through the Yogi Beans program, is a certified Juice Coach through Joe Cross's Reboot with Joe, and recently completed her online Reiki Master program.
