Taylor [the Tailor] was born and raised in New York. Growing up in between the big city and a cozy cottage nestled in the suburbs outside the concrete jungle, with a family the size of a small town, she was able to find peace amidst chaos! She earned a Bachelors Degree in humanities [health and wellness] from the State University of New York at Oneonta, in the beautiful Catskill mountains. During her time in school, Taylor taught herself how to sew. She began to design clothing and spread her passion for self expression through wearable art, by teaching sewing lessons! Taylor has spent the last decade creating art programs [for adults and children on all aspects of life’s vibrant spectrum!] ~ privately and in various group/community homes. She was also blessed with the opportunity of working in a number of different theaters, as a tailor, all over the NorthEast Coast. The common thread throughout these experiences, was children. Wherever she found herself working, Taylor continually had profound encounters with children. As these magical moments grew more frequent, she took it as a sign to follow life’s lead! Moving to Colorado in 2011, Taylor dove deep into the world of early childhood everything! She landed a job full time as a pre-school teacher in a day care on a lake, just outside Denver. Anytime she wasn’t in her classroom, Taylor was nannying, sharing art therapy in various schools around the Front Range area or working on developing what would become a revolutionary safe space for families and children [of all ages] at festivals worldwide – Rainbow Lighting. Before having two sweet children of her own, Rainbow Lightning was her baby; a 501c3 organization dedicated to empowering self-expression through music, art and nature! With this endeavor, Taylor has been able to create countless programs and build a close knit team of mentors that travel together, uplifting and inspiring youth to be themselves! After ten rewarding years living in the South West, Taylor has decided to relocate her family back East and is excited for the opportunity to be a part of something incredible.. just down the hill from where she grew up!
