Kathy’s yoga journey began over 13 years ago while searching for another modality to help reduce her chronic back pain. Yoga helped to make her stronger, more flexible and gave her a sense of calmness. She fell in love with Baptiste inspired Vinyasa flow Yoga. She felt the practice “spoke” to her in that it focused on inquiry, meditation and movement. She came to realize that the physical and mental benefits were endless and she wanted to share this experience with others.
Kathy holds a Vinyasa flow 200 RYT with credentials in Yin and Baptiste Yoga. She also holds a 600 hr classical Pilates certification from the USPA (2013). In 2019, she decided to dive deeper into her yoga practice wanting to focus on meditation and intentional movement linked to the breath. She loves the physicality of the practice along with the mental clarity and overall spiritual calmness. She believes that yoga can be life changing when practiced with a meditative focus and a connection to the breath.
Kathy is a wife and mother of two young adult children and lives in Kent, NY. As a recently retired Research Scientist, she spends her time kayaking, hiking, gardening, reading, traveling and of course, being a dedicated Yogi.
Kathy’s goal is to share her enthusiasm and knowledge of yoga which can be a powerful and playful practice that allows you to open your body and mind to endless possibilities. The hope is to transfer these possibilities from the mat to your daily life in order to achieve a sense of serenity and well being in your physical and spiritual self.
