In this introductory course, taught by James Derungs, participants will learn how to convey deep and meaningful messages visually through a myriad of hands-on craft and artistic means. The essential skills of Visual Communication will be reinforced through the creative exploration of various media such as Posters, Greeting cards, Advertisements, Public Service Announcements, Brochures and many more!
Class Level: ASSISTED. This class will include assistance for students needing support in engagement and participation. This may be assistance from instructors, support staff, or caregivers, or a combination of the above. Assistance is encouraged, and accessibility is a priority. Students should be prepared for diverse abilities, and engagement that is both independent and collaborative with support.

James Derungs is visual arts teacher, artist, designer and life-long learner of all things creative. He is captivated by visual communication in all its forms and is forever curious about the exploration of differing cultures and its implications upon the visual arts. Sharing this passion with others is essential to his own craft, having taught professionally for 15 years. His background in graphic design inspires and excites him about the implications of combining technology with traditional visual arts techniques.
