As March unfolds, we’re reminded of the significance of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM). It’s a time to amplify our focus on inclusion and reflect on the barriers that people with developmental disabilities may still encounter in connecting to their communities.
This year, the theme of DDAM is “A World of Opportunities,” a rallying cry for celebrating individuals and collectively dismantling obstacles. At InterArts, we wholeheartedly embrace this theme. Through our offering of community arts, people, regardless of their abilities, come together to explore, learn, and share their unique creative journeys. InterArts is a testament to inclusivity, offering a platform where artists can transcend barriers and connect through various artistic disciplines.
Our dedicated team of professional arts, music, theater, and movement teachers are committed to creating a space where people of all abilities have the chance to thrive through the arts. They work to eliminate barriers and facilitate meaningful connections within the arts community, here at InterArts, and beyond. They bring joy, empowerment, and a sense of belonging to our students with developmental disabilities. It’s not just fulfilling work—it’s fun and rewarding, filled with meaningful connections and opportunities for personal growth.
